Feeling flushed? Then this compact property could be just for you – and there’s no chain, so to speak.

The Former public WC on Rose Hill, Fowey

A public convenience in Fowey, owned by Cornwall Council, is being sold later this month by one of the region’s leading land and property auctioneers, Clive Emson.

With a guide price of £10k-£20k, the freehold block of toilets at Rose Hill is set to attract keen interest from hunters of the more unusual lots.

Scott Gray, one of the auctioneers for Clive Emson in the West Country and a regular on BBC’s Homes Under the Hammer TV series, said: “It’s not often I get to say this, but this former toilet facility has an attractive façade, comprising of stone walls in an elevated position in this stunning riverside town.

“In the past couple of years all former public conveniences in our auctions across the south of England have sold – investors see future potential in them because of excellent locations, which is why they are happy to spend more than a penny buying them up.

“The property here could lend itself to a variety of uses, subject to all the necessary consents being obtainable.”

The auction, which includes a diverse range of vacant and income-producing residential and commercial property lots as well as land right across the south west, takes place at the St Mellion International Resort on Thursday, February 23.
