Carbon-balanced printer St Austell Printing Company (SAPC) has partnered up with Falmouth University students for a creative collaboration on its 2025 calendar.
Building on the success of previous collaborations, this year’s project will see Falmouth’s talented graphic design and illustration students bring their unique vision to life, creating a calendar that will not only highlight ‘The Power of Print Through the Ages’ but also showcase the exceptional creative talent coming out of Cornwall.
“We’re always excited to work with the students from Falmouth University on our annual calendar,” said SAPC operations manager, Beth Mayman.
“What’s really interesting this year is the diverse range of themes, styles and media used throughout. The students really researched the topic, and so it was great for us to have such a broad range of stories all showcasing the power of print.”
The students have been involved in every step of the process. After receiving the brief, over a process of several weeks the students present rough ideas to the team at SAPC, who then work with each student on a one-to-one basis to develop their final piece. SAPC then chooses winning designs to feature as each month’s artwork.
“I think it’s important for the university to continue to partner with organisations such as St Austell Printing Company,” said Natalie Hayes, senior lecturer and head of third year BA (Hons) illustration at Falmouth University.
“It’s about our students not only getting valuable experience working on commissions, but it’s about learning a bit more about Cornwall, learning a bit more about local businesses and I think it’s a great opportunity for businesses like St Austell Printing Company to put something back into the local community as well.”
The finished calendars is being sent out to St Austell Printing Company customers throughout this month.
