Falmouth-based marine engineer Tugdock has reached a key milestone with its pioneering TSP technology.

Its Tugdock Submersible Platform (TSP) has been awarded a ‘Statement of Feasibility’ from DNV, one of the world’s leading  independent energy experts and assurance providers

The TSP is a pinned, open steel-frame that uses the company’s patented vertical air buoyancy cylinders. The system is road transportable and once assembled on site serves as a modular dry dock of any width or length combination (in 5 metres increments) up to 120m x 120m.  It can be used for lifting and launching heavy marine structures or vessels and as a modular workstation.

Tugdock’s chief technical officer, Matt Ingram, said: “This endorsement from DNV is a testament to the rigorous engineering and testing behind the TSP. The TSP’s modularity and flexibility open up a world of possibilities… we are excited to move onto the next stage of development in our plans.”

Chief revenue officer, Lucas Lowe-Houghton, added: “We are already collaborating with clients across the globe and are excited to be working toward a planned deployment of the TSP in 2025.

“As part of our growth strategy, we are actively exploring opportunities to establish an operational base in the US, Wales and Scotland, in addition to our base in England. This will allow us to better serve key markets, support our clients more effectively, and strengthen our global presence.”
