St Austell Printing Company has unveiled it 2021 calendar, once again featuring artwork by talented third-year Falmouth University Illustration students.

This year’s theme is ‘Happy Place’. With health and wellbeing being very-much at the forefront of people’s minds, the SAPC team wanted to use the 2021 calendar to acknowledge and promote the importance of looking after ourselves and each other.

Thousands of calendars have been manufactured and are being sent to the company’s clients across the UK. This year, the calendar also features a wide range of embellishments by the SAPC in-house specialist finishing team including die cutting, embossing and both hot and liquid foiling.

Marketing and communications manager Matt Bunt said: “We wanted to create an uplifting, positive calendar for 2021 and without a doubt, every single student impressed us with their enthusiasm, approach and ideas.

“Normally, we would visit the university and hold our sessions face-to-face. However, due to the pandemic we had to conduct everything remotely – but this didn’t affect the quality of the submissions in any way.

“Over 50 students submitted illustrations based around the brief, which we had to whittle down to the final 13.”

This project is part of the third-year curriculum of the course in conjunction with the Illustration Department at Falmouth and gives students the opportunity to work on a live project with regular feedback from SAPC.
