Canadian mining company Strongbow Exploration, which owns the South Crofty site, is to change its name to Cornish Metals Inc.

The Vancouver-based business, which recently started test drilling at South Crofty and United Downs, voted on the name change at its AGM, and is expected to take effect from July 27, subject to regulatory approval.

A 2,000m drill programme has been designed to test the extension of high-grade tin mineralisation beneath the No. 4 and No. 8 Lodes in the central section of the South Crofty mine complex.

It has also discovered high-grade copper and tin mineralisation at United Downs, where it is also searching for lithium in brines in collaboration with Cornish Lithium.
