The Aerohub Enterprise Zone at Cornwall Airport Newquay has a new client.

Holt Lloyd International Ltd, a global leader in the manufacture of automotive care products, is set to open a distribution centre in one of the former hangar buildings on the south side of the airport.

This will allow Holt Lloyd to localise all of its UK and Eastern European distribution in Cornwall.

Holt Lloyd plant manager, Mark Richards, said: “We are really excited to have found a location near enough to our manufacturing home in Newquay to significantly streamline our supply chain in the UK.

“We are delighted to have received the support of Cornwall Airport Newquay, the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership, Westfield Transport and our Canadian owners (KIK Corporation) to make this a reality after years of uncertainty. ”

Chairman of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership, Mark Duddridge, added: “This is a further milestone for Aerohub and builds on the 306 jobs we have already attracted since the Enterprise Zone went live in April 2012.

“With the Zone’s tax incentives and a streamlined planning regime in place, we are confident of attracting further investment and jobs.”

Holt Lloyd International Ltd currently has a manufacturing site in Newquay and a distribution centre in Stretford, Manchester. The new distribution centre will allow Holt Lloyd to better serve its customers by reducing internal lead times, and by shortening the cycle time between manufacturing, and product availability.
