A Cornwall business that converts shipping containers into bespoke modular buildings is set for further expansion after raising £450k from a crowdfunding campaign.

ISO Spaces used Crowdcube to raise the capital which it will now invest in hiring new staff, increasing capacity and extending its St Austell production facility.

ISO Spaces initially set out to raise £300k return for 10% of the business. The target was exceeded within four weeks, however, with more than 300 investors contributing between £10 and £50k.

Co-founders and directors Ben Treleaven and Gregg Curtis were supported throughout the process by specialist business coaching company, Oxford Innovation.

Treleaven said: “We’ve worked with Oxford Innovation since our pre-start days so the concept of raising finance in this way came through our on-going work with the coaching team that we know so well.

“Our order book is already full through to 2017 but with this funding in place, we can take on even more work, creating new jobs in the process.

“I’m grateful to all of the team at Oxford Innovation who have provided us with invaluable support from the conception of the business right through to our pitch for this funding.”
