Following the opening of a new production facility and visitor centre in March, the company is reporting record-breaking performances in both on site and external sales.
To meet demand, more full-time employees have been recruited – resulting in a workforce of 40 permanent members of staff and an additional 50 seasonal workers.
Commercial director Joe Healey commented: “May half term broke all previous records in terms of visitors.
“Our new centre is proving an enormous draw and tours alone have gone up by 60%. The extra space means customers have a lot more room to browse and that, in turn, has led to more purchases.
“With much greater production capacity than we had before we’ve been able to expand our out of county sales and, importantly, embed a route to market in the South East. Current customers include Marks & Spencer, Tesco and ASDA and our in-house expertise, product range and brand recognition is improving all the time. These are exciting times and, with the help of the weather and a predicted exceptional apple crop, we’re looking forward to continuing growth and success in the months and years ahead.”
At around 3.5m litres, Healeys cyder production is currently 20% up on last year.
