And the company has recruited a team with 50 years’ combined commercial broking experience to serve the increasingly diverse risk management and insurance needs of local businesses.

Carl Jolly and Chris Spencer have been appointed as senior account executives, and are joined by Ann Bennett and Lucy Sime as account executives, operating out of the new offices in Victoria Business Park.

With existing branches in Exeter and Barnstaple, Arthur J Gallagher now has strong representation across the south west.

Regional MD, Gary Fletcher, said: “We see significant scope for growth in Cornwall, which is home to an increasingly diverse range of businesses, and have recruited a first-rate team of experts to provide dedicated service and support to our expanding number of clients in the area.

“There’s a real knowledge-based economy emerging in Cornwall, with expansion in sectors such as technology, aerospace and renewable energy alongside the more traditional tourism, farming and lifestyle-orientated industries associated with the area, making for a rich spectrum of risk exposures which we can help firms mitigate, manage and transfer.”

Arthur J Gallagher is the brand name for the international broking division of Arthur J Gallagher & Co outside of the United States, which employs more than 6,500 staff across the UK, Australia, Singapore, Caribbean, Canada, Chile, Norway and New Zealand.
