Treasure Trails has secured “substantial” fresh investment from a new director.

The Truro-based company, which specialises in creating themed walking trails across the UK, has welcomed Graham Keene into the company.

Treasure Trails founder Steve Ridd had been seeking investment with the help of the South West Angel and Investor Network (SWAIN) in order to develop and drive the long-term business strategy of the company.

SWAIN helps connect private investors, or ‘business angels’, with companies looking for investment and at a recent SWAIN event, Ridd found the perfect business partner in Devon-based investor, Graham Keene.

“Graham will be playing a hands-on role at board level and together we now have the skills and capital to turn Treasure Trails into a household name”

Ridd explained: “I have absolutely loved creating the Treasure Trails products, brand and family over the last six years, but there is only so much that a husband and wife team can do.

“The concept has become a national success and I have felt strongly that what we needed was strengthening at the executive level, to help take the next big step. I am very excited about the future of the company. Graham will be playing a hands-on role at board level and together we now have the skills and capital to turn Treasure Trails into a household name.”

Keene brings a wealth of business knowledge and experience to Treasure Trails after founding, building and recently selling one of the UK’s leading international live event agencies.

He added: “I am delighted that my first significant SWAIN investment is with Treasure Trails. Under Steve’s leadership the company has grown from an idea to a national franchised business and I am very much looking forward to working with the Truro headquarters team to develop the product and service offer for our current licensees.”

Since being founded in 2005, Treasure Trails has grown into a national franchise with 37 Licensees, six head office staff in Truro and over 800 Trails UK wide.
