A leading solar company from Germany has set up a UK arm in Cornwall, offering businesses the chance to reduce energy bills and generate additional income through photovoltaic technology.

Solen Energy UK has set up at Indian Queens and offers solar PV systems to commercial and agricultural markets.

With a large warehouse and range of stock, it also sells panels and equipment to installers working with smaller, domestic projects.

With the backing of parent company Solen Energy, based in north west Germany, the team brings together a wealth of experience from six years in the industry and installation of more than 400 solar PV systems across Europe.

Kevin Wood, sales and marketing director for Solen Energy UK, said: “Cornwall is absolutely the ideal place to base a company like this. We have the best quality sunlight in the country, so there are great opportunities for business owners to harness this energy.

“We’re keen to work with owners of larger business premises or agricultural buildings, where we can design powerful systems that both reduce energy bills and also generate income through the Government’s feed-in tariff.”

In Cornwall, the company has employed 16 staff including project engineers, technicians, sales and support staff.

A full profile of the company will appear in the July issue of Business Cornwall magazine.
