Jewellery business St Ives Silver has appointed Helen Rowe as marketing and business development coordinator, a position which became available with the help of the Unlocking Cornish Potential (UCP) scheme.

Rowe has a strong background in marketing, previously in the publishing industry, but was keen to take her skills into a new sector. She commented: “When I saw the position advertised through the UCP scheme, I knew that as well as enabling me to work at graduate level in Cornwall, I would also benefit from their support and training, which was an advantage I didn’t want to miss!”

Ruth Nicoll and Tristan Evans, co-founders of St Ives Silver, said: “In the two years since we opened the doors of St Ives Silver our business has grown to two retail shops, a website and a wide wholesale customer base.

“We therefore felt it would benefit from having a new member of the team who could wholly dedicate their time to developing new business ideas and promoting the various strands of our business. With Helen’s experience and expertise we’re really looking forward to taking the business even further and we’re delighted to have her on board.”
