A Cornish event management company is expanding following relocation to new offices in Truro.

Event Cornwall has moved to a new base in Cathedral Lane, and has taken on an office administrator to support its growing client base.

Sammy Mudhar joins the team from The Works, the Cornwall-based dance and theatre agency, where she worked as an administrator.

She said: “I’ve been working alongside Event Cornwall for some time and seen how the company has quickly developed.

“It’s fantastic to be part of the team now, where I can learn more about creative event management and put my administrative skills and experience into action.”

Event Cornwall, which comprises a team of four event management professionals, has had a busy year following contract wins with the BBC, University College Falmouth and Truro Cathedral.

Closer to home, Event Cornwall co-ordinated the Music Truro festival in September, including the city’s first drive-in movie experience.

Event Cornwall director Claire Eason-Bassett added: “We’re delighted to now have an office base right at the heart of the county so we can easily access all our projects whilst making sure we have a strong administrative foundation.

“Sammy joining us was a natural progression for the company. She’s friendly, enthusiastic and professional so she fits right in and we’re really happy to have her on board.”

Event Cornwall was established in January 2008 and is run by three directors, Claire Eason-Bassett, exhibitions specialist Clare Hearn and live events expert Chris Alexander.

Event co-ordinator Amy Weeks joined the team in October 2008 under the Unlocking Cornish Potential graduate placement scheme. Event Cornwall also boosts its team with talented freelancers and interns for specific projects.
