SITA on course with investment programme

Waste management company SITA Cornwall has announced that its plans to invest £150 million in the county over the next five years will not be affected by the recession.

SITA’s general manager in Cornwall, Louis de Poncheville, stated: “We have a commitment to meet a high number of environmental targets that cannot be reduced, regardless of the financial situation. People will still be throwing away their rubbish and hopefully, they will be increasingly separating out everything that can be recycled.”
SITA has plans to open four new recycling facilities, two waste transfer stations and the Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre (CERC), planned for St Dennis.
