Team Surveys Ltd is pleased to announce the successful merger with one of the UK’s leading utility detection experts, SUMO Services.

The development sees Team Surveys, which has been established for 19 years, join forces with SUMO to combine both companies’ activities providing a more comprehensive range of services to new and existing customers.

Andy Cooke, Managing Director of Cornwall-based Team Surveys said, “This is an extremely exciting time for the company. Being under the SUMO umbrella will provide even greater opportunities for expansion and increase our presence in the market.

“The strength of the SUMO brand is second-to-none and we are delighted that Team Surveys is now part of a nationally-recognised and thriving company,” said Andy.

Team Surveys will continue to offer topographic, measured building, railway and GPS surveys in addition to specialised services, and its prestigious clients include Bovis Homes, Transco and Faber Maunsell.

SUMO Services’ Managing Director Mike Bushell believes the merger is set to benefit employees and customers alike.

“SUMO and Team Surveys have a similar company ethos in terms of the importance we place on both staff satisfaction and customer service. I am confident that for everyone involved, the merger means security, success and a wealth of opportunity.

“We are already industry leaders within the utility detection sector and with Team Surveys now on board, SUMO can now offer an even greater range of surveying and specialist services to the construction industry,” added Mike.

Team Surveys was founded almost two decades ago and is based in St Austell. It employs a team of 18 employees with 14 surveyors on board, and services clients in Cornwall and across the South West.

SUMO is the largest specialist utility detection company in the UK and recent sites it has surveyed across the UK include St Marys Hospital, Portsmouth, St Lukes Hospital, Middlesborough, Trent Bridge Cricket Ground and Manchester Airport. Contract values range from £1,000k to more than £100,000k.
