Independent electricity supplier Opus Energy has joined forces with Cornwall Light and Power (CLP) to secure the entire output of Renewable Obligation Certificates from the High Sharpley wind farm and Goonhilly Wind Farm on the Lizard.
These certificates are purchased as part of Opus Energy’s renewable obligation and provide support and funding for the development of renewable energy.
Cornwall Light & Power recently announced details of a £20 million project to ‘repower’ the Goonhilly Wind Farm by replacing the 14 existing wind turbines with just six, increasing the amount of emissions-free electricity produced by nearly four times.
