As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations happening throughout March, a special Women in Business event will be taking place later this month.

Organised by the Access to Finance programme, which is designed and delivered by Oxford Innovation Advice, this free event at Falmouth Golf Club on March 23 is aimed at owners and directors of small and medium sized businesses as well as those just starting up.

Sharing practical advice, knowledge and real-life experiences, the event will explore the challenges and opportunities facing today’s female business leaders as well as the funding and support available.

An impressive line-up of speakers has already been confirmed, which includes key note speaker Jo Fairley, the co-founder of Green & Black’s chocolate; Georgina May, MD of Venton Conference Centre; Louisa Inch, founder of Premier Water Solutions; Lucy Jones, co-founder of The Cornish Food Box Company; Amanda Lucas, founding director of Babygro as well as experts from SWIG Finance, NatWest and The FSE Group.

Heather Coupland, programme manager at Access to Finance, explained: “According to the Government-commissioned Rose Review, boosting female entrepreneurship could add £250 billion to the UK economy, so supporting current and future female business leaders in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is crucial. Our event will provide an excellent opportunity for attendees to expand their knowledge, access relevant support and network with other local businesses.”
