Last weekend’s Fowey Christmas Market has been hailed a resounding success.

The popular free-to-attend event attracted an estimated 21,000 visitors and hosted almost 100 stalls across four venues in the town.

Andrew Weaver from organiser Live Events South West said: “We are very thankful. It was a fantastic weekend that took a huge amount of work and we are so pleased to have delivered once again.

“We really do enjoy creating a community centred festive market which attracts people from far and wide. Despite spiralling costs, we managed to do the right thing and kept it free to attend, which is very important, especially with the cost of living and cost of running a business rising.

“Communities need to work together and people need something to look forward to, and we are pleased to have achieved that. The event brings so much to the local circular economy and is vital for so many small businesses, both in the town and traders. We are now looking at next year and will continue to build on what we have achieved in Fowey since 2015.

“In the meantime, we want to thank all that joined us at the event and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and our best wishes for 2023.”

Next year’s dates are December 8-10. Any traders wishing to take part can complete an online enquiry here.
