  • New venue catering for 10-120 guests with adaptable rooms
  • Located one minute from Cornwall’s A30 with great transport links
  • Leading the way with cutting-edge conference technology

A stunning new conference centre, built in the heart of Cornwall, has opened its doors to businesses across the county for the first time.

Founded by Truro-based entrepreneur Georgina May, Venton Conference Centre has been built to give businesses in Cornwall an innovative, state-of-the-art venue like never before.

From the most advanced conference technology, to adaptable rooms that can cater for anything from 10 to 120 people, it’s one of the largest dedicated conference venues in the county.

And sitting less than a minute off the A30 at Summercourt, near Newquay, it’s just 20 minutes by car from some of the area’s key transport links, including Newquay Airport and Truro Train Station – making it ideally situated and easily accessible to all.

On the launch of the venue, Georgina, who simultaneously runs an accountancy practice (also under the Venton name), said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be opening the Venton Conference Centre.

“This has long been a dream of mine and has been in the pipeline for several years. That my vision has now come to life and we’re finally open is just the best way to welcome the lifting of restrictions.”

For Georgina, 30, a key part of the project was to create a smoother meeting experience. Through easy-to-use digital projectors, high-spec sound systems and superfast Wi-fi, it’s all geared towards making sure presentations go off without a hitch.

Among the high tech on offer are the wireless screen-sharing presentation capabilities with Cynap Pure and the Samsung Flip 2’s interactive display board, perfect for brainstorming those budding ideas. In fact, you’ll be hard-pressed to find better tech elsewhere in Cornwall.

Georgina said: “I know fellow businesses and entrepreneurs across Cornwall will come to really appreciate this space and I can’t wait to share the incredible technology we have here.

“When I started this project, I wanted to bring business events in Cornwall into the future, making use of some of the most cutting-edge devices and software out there to really transform the meeting and conference experience at no extra cost.”

However, it was also important to Georgina that the rooms be flexible – something which has proved invaluable in the time of Covid, as big events were put on hold and businesses looked to host smaller meetings.

Now the four rooms, named after some of Cornwall’s most beloved beauty spots, can be tailored for specific room sizes and seating arrangements to create that perfect meeting space.

She said: “Launching during Covid was something I could never have predicted, but I strongly believe that we have a resilient business community and, with the ease of restrictions, we’re already seeing the bookings come in.

“We are still urging guests to follow recommended guidance and they can be safe in the knowledge that we can provide a comfortable, reliable meeting experience that meets all their needs.”

Rooms are offered on a half day, full day, evening or weekend basis and special rates are applied for multi-date and rolling bookings.
