One of Cornwall’s most highly anticipated food and farming events is back on the calendar for 2021.
The Cornish Winter Fair, held at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre in Wadebridge, is returning to its annual slot (Saturday, November 20), having last been held in 2019.
The event celebrates the best of Cornwall’s farming and food industry and incorporates the competitions from the 143-year-old Wadebridge Prime Stock Show, which includes cattle and sheep classes.
In the past, the event has received up to 8,000 visitors and nearly 1,000 competitive entries, which includes livestock showing, produce, cookery, floral art and handicrafts classes.
There is set to be a wide range of trade stands, not to mention the best in Cornish food and drink, as well as hand-made gifts and products.
The event is free to visitors and will take place under the roof of the Exhibition Halls at the Royal Cornwall Events Centre. Doors open at 10am, and the event will run until 5pm. There will be free parking available on-site.
Honorary show secretary, Chris Riddle, said: “After what has been a difficult time for everyone, we are thrilled that we are able to bring back the Cornish Winter Fair for the local community, for the traders, and for all the people that compete at this event annually.”
