A multi-Olympic medallist is coming to Cornwall to be keynote speaker at a leadership conference, sharing his story and inspiring those who work within local businesses to apply themselves and become better leaders.

Roger Black MBE, an Olympian who has represented Great Britain at the highest level in the world of athletics, winning 15 major championship medals in 14 years, will be speaking at the leadership conference in partnership with Truro and Penwith College, at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay on Friday, September 24.

Places are limited for the free event so delegates are being encouraged to book as soon as possible to secure their place.

“I’m excited to be coming to Cornwall,” said Black. “My talks are designed to engage the audience in the lessons learnt throughout my athletics careers, which resulted in achieving my dream of standing on the Olympic rostrum in Atlanta in 1996. There are many similarities between high performance in the worlds of sport and business.”

Fully funded by the European Social Fund, the ‘Bouncing Back with Roger Black – Leadership Conference’ will include topics such as change management, overcoming adversity, leadership and teamwork. Black also covers how individual talent is not enough and how surrounding yourself with talent can add to your success personally in your career as well as throughout business and organisations.

Registering for this event is essential. If you work within a business in Cornwall and are interested in attending the event, head to www.truro-penwith.ac.uk/rogerblack.
