This week, Cornwall Chamber of Commerce will bring a new style of event to the Duchy and help one business secure a package of investment and support to help them grow.

‘SOUP’ originates from the US. The concept is simple; listen to four pitches while enjoying a bowl of soup, put your bowl on soup on the table in front of the pitch you enjoyed the most, and the company with the most bowls, wins.

Cornwall Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with Plymouth University to bring this event to the county; the university ran the first south west SOUP event in February with great success.

The lucky pitchers – who have four minutes to win over the business audience at Friday’s event are Kitchen Front, Grosvenor Pumps Climate Vision and ADi Access.

The winner will receive £250 from Plymouth University, the takings from ticket sales and a package of support from well-known companies in the Duchy.

The package of support includes £500 worth of free legal advice from Foot Anstey, an hour of free social media advice from Minchin and Grimshaw, an hour of free HR advice from Sapience HR, an hour of free creative advice from MPAD, an hour of free accounting advice from Bishop Fleming, and a year’s free chamber membership.

The event takes place at Truro School on Friday (April 8) at 12.30pm.
