we are cornwall

Embracing the power of multi-platform marketing was the focus of a free seminar held for Cornish businesses last week.

The event was organised by new company, We are Cornwall, which has developed a website showcasing many different aspects of what the county has to offer.

Only launched in March this year, more than 100 businesses have already signed up as members and, with thousands of visitors each month, We are Cornwall was recently selected as a finalist in the Western Morning News Business Awards’ Best Business Start Up category for 2015.

The event attracted a full house at the Tremough Innovation Centre, with a second similar event early in the New Year.

The two and a half hour workshop entitled, Mapping your Marketing, encouraged those who attended to investigate fresh ideas and map out a marketing plan for 2016 that will attract more customers.

Topics covered included identifying your target market, putting together a communication toolkit, outlining key messages, making word of mouth work for you, making the most of the Cornish pound and working together.

MD, Sue Bradbury, said: “The plan was to deliver a dynamic, interactive and enjoyable session accessible to all those who came – as well as an excellent networking opportunity. I think we achieved that as the feedback was extremely positive and businesses reported forging some mutually beneficial working relationships.”
