As Export Week kicks off in the south west today (Nov 10), UK Trade and Investment’s (UKTI) regional director is urging businesses to consider trading overseas as part of their growth strategies and to use the Government support available to do so.

Russell Jones said: “The very essence of Export Week is to encourage the region’s businesses to consider their overseas potential and show how UKTI can help reach potential customers around the world.

“I strongly believe that most companies can and should export – from single-owner operations to large corporations. If you are successful in the UK, there is no reason why you can’t sell abroad, if you do your research and plan properly.”

A number of events are taking place across the south west this week, including two in Cornwall – ‘Exporting Alcohol for the UK’ (St Michael’s Hotel, Falmouth, Nov 11) and ‘Go Global: The World Is Waiting’, at Merchants Manor, also in Falmouth, on November 13.
