Sustainability expert, Dr Alan Knight, has been announced as one of the speakers at next month’s Cornwall Business Fair.
Dr Knight, chairman of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Nature Partnership, will urge businesses to embrace “a new type of thinking”, which, he says, could reap rich dividends.
He said: “A recent report indicated embracing sustainability could bring another £100 billion into the UK economy. Cornwall is rich in nature, landscapes and culture so is perfectly placed to win a substantial share of this £100 billion prize for sustainability.”
Dr Knight is the first of six high profile speakers to be announced for the Cornwall Business Fair, which is taking place on May 14, at the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre in Truro.
He will share his views and experience on the need to “recouple the link between the environment and economic prosperity”.
