This year’s Cornwall Business Week (May 12-16) is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

On Tuesday, May 13, there is a choice of events to attend. Across at the Newquay Lighthouse Cinema, accountancy firm Francis Clark will be holding its seventh annual Finance in Cornwall event, updating businesses on the very latest funding streams available.

Then at the same location later that afternoon, Start-up Cornwall will present some essential information for those looking to set up a business of their own.

Both these events are free to attend, but pre-booking is essential.

Meanwhile, also on May 13, the Royal Cornwall Showground is the place to head for, for the Enterprising Women-organised conference, Ahead for Heights.

The conference, aimed to give Cornish businesswomen “what they need to take their business to new heights”, will feature a number of workshops and presentations, including a keynote speech from Alex Polizzi, star of TV’s The Hotel Inspector and The Fixer.

The following day (May 14), the focus of Cornwall Business Week turns to the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre at Treliske, Truro, for the Cornwall Business Fair.

The event, organised by the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce and Get Set For Growth, will feature some 60 exhibition stands and a comprehensive programme of workshops and seminars.

And then finally on Thursday May 15, the very best of Cornwall’s businesses and business achievements will be celebrated up at St Mellion, with the Cornwall Business Awards, and guest speaker Gerald Ratner.

Other events taking place during Cornwall Business Week, include the Forte Financial Direction-hosted Cornish Food & Drink seminar, and Digital Creative Development: A Swedish Exemplar, both taking place on the 15th.

A full preview of Cornwall Business Week will appear in the May edition, of Business Cornwall magazine.
