Michelle Mone OBE has been confirmed as the guest speaker at Leading Women UK’s Inspiring Female Entrepreneurship conferences next month.
Supported by Unlocking Potential, the Leading Women UK team believes the Ultimo founder will motivate women to achieve their goals and realise that entrepreneurship is possible, even in rural areas.
Mone, from east Glasgow, left school at 15 with no qualifications, yet was running a sales and marketing team by the age of 20, setting up MJM International at 25.
She then started Ultimo, which become the first UK lingerie brand to debut on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week, with Michelle being voted the UK’s number one woman in business in January 2010 by Glamour magazine.
Founder and director of Leading Women UK, Rachel Jones, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Michelle to Cornwall and Devon to speak to our local entrepreneurs.
“Michelle is an incredible woman with a story that will inspire all delegates to achieve their potential – we couldn’t think of a more successful businesswoman and personality to speak at our conferences, celebrating female entrepreneurship.”
Two conferences have been organised, one in Plymouth on May 23, and another at Wadebridge’s Pavilion Centre on Wednesday May 22. For further details and to book tickets for the Cornwall event, click here.
