A new event which invites business leaders in Cornwall to innovate by looking outside the world of business is being launched this week.

‘thrive’ is being hosted at the Hall for Cornwall on May 1 by Unlocking Potential and Event Cornwall.

Some 200 delegates are expected to attend the one-day event, which will feature a keynote presentation from Hamish Taylor.

Dubbed the ‘Master Thief’, Taylor is a renowned expert on branding, leadership and project management. He started his career at Procter and Gamble, was head of brands at British Airways, CEO of Eurostar and CEO of Sainsbury’s Bank – all before he was 40.

He specialises in ‘stealing’ ideas from different environments to break through innovation and change in business.

Unlocking Potential’s Allyson Glover claims it’s a massive coup for Cornwall. She said: “Hamish’s experience of taking ideas from non-business environments has proven to be tremendously successful. I’m sure Cornish business leaders will enjoy sharing ideas with the Master Thief and will no doubt leave him with a few new ones to take away.”

The idea for the thrive conference has come from the experiences of Event Cornwall’s Claire Eason-Bassett. Having attended many business support events, she felt there was an opportunity for a conference to be delivered within a creative and alternative environment which would balance motivational and inspiring speakers from outside of the traditional business environment.

Delegates who wish to attend are being urged to book well in advance to avoid disappointment as spaces are strictly limited. A limited number of exhibition spaces are also available to business on a first-come first-served basis.

Tickets for thrive are on sale now for the early bird price of £65 + VAT per person (available until the March 4). For more information or to book a place, click here.
