A company that aims to provide businesses with ‘geek support’ will be holding a series of clinics during the Cornwall Business Show next week.

The Employ a Geek team will be holding a series of ‘geek clinics’ at the Cornwall Business Show

Employ a Geek, which is the brainchild of Mark Grice, who runs Pool-based Redfuse Internet, and Mark Picken, who runs MPAD in Truro, will be hosting the advice drop-ins during the two-day event at Kingsley Village.

Taking place on Wednesday, October 3 and Thursday, October 4, Employ a Geek will have five slots each day for businesses wanting advice on web development and programming.

Chief geek, Mark Grice, said: “Business people know about their business and have their own strengths. Sometimes programmers can get very technical with the language they use and this can bamboozle people.

“What we want to do is act as a bridge between the two to allow the businesses to get what they need to ensure success, while understanding what is going on and how it benefit their business.

“In some respects our main role is to act as ‘geek translators’, so these clinics will give business people a great chance to talk through their needs and get a response they understand.”
