All set for Agile conference

A major international software development conference opens its doors in Penryn next week.

The Agile on the Beach event, taking place at Tremough Campus on September 15 and 16, boasts an impressive line of speakers from across the UK, Europe and the USA.

They will address and discuss many of the hard core technical aspects of Agile, through to the business strategy involved.

Agile provides techniques and tools to alleviate issues surrounding traditional software development and deployment, to help make businesses more effective.

The event is being welcomed by many Cornish IT companies.

Paul Massey, MD of Absolute Software in Redruth, said: “Having access to world class speakers and trainers in the south west will help increase our local skills base as well as attract more highly experienced programmers to the region.

“The Agile on the Beach conference will give a much needed boost to IT skill levels in the region.”

UKNetWeb MD Toby Parkins hopes it will attract talented job-seekers to the region.

He said: “Recruiting quality team members is the key restriction on growth. All activities that help reduce this ultimately means more high-end jobs in our area.”
