North Cornwall MP Dan Rogerson has responded to the Prime Minister’s speech to the Digital Britain Summit this morning.
At the summit, Gordon Brown stressed the importance of the UK being at the heart of digital economy. Rogerson commented: “The Prime Minister is right to say universal broadband access across the country is vital to Britain’s success.
“But he must put his words into action by ensuring that even the remotest areas have access to a fast internet connection. Universal all too often means ‘nearly universal’ and leaves rural areas like those in North Cornwall behind.
“That will not do. Only full 100% coverage is enough.”
