New laws on unfair dismissal, coming into force next month, will be the subject of free seminars in Truro and Exeter hosted by some of the region’s top legal experts.

Specialist employment lawyers, Nigel Moore, Laura McFadyen and David Hodge from south west legal firm Stephens Scown will present at the events to give advice and take questions on the significant changes taking effect in employment law from April 1.

The seminars, which are open to businesses from across Devon and Cornwall, will cover the new law on unfair dismissal, forthcoming legislation and new case law –  with potential hot spots and pitfalls for employers to avoid. They also include the opportunity to network with other attendees.

Nigel Moore, partner and employment team leader at Stephens Scown, said: “These free events are aimed at companies, both large and small, across the region and are an excellent opportunity for anyone with questions or concerns about the legislation being introduced this year. We’ll be offering practical advice and we hope it will serve to clear up any potential confusion and equip employers and managers with the knowledge they need.”

Each of the seminars runs from 8.30am to 11.00am and includes tea, coffee and bacon rolls. The first seminar takes place at Alverton Manor Hotel, Truro on Tuesday 31 March. Anyone wishing to attend either seminar should contact the marketing team on 01392 210700 or email devonevents@stephens-scown.co.uk

The second seminar will be held on Tuesday 7 April at Exeter Racecourse.
