A start-up which is working to become the go-to parking payment solution in the county has just seen its first partnership go live.

FindParkPay, founded by Tim Macknelly and Matthew Ratsey while on Falmouth University’s Launchpad programme, provides a simple no sign-up platform, which looks to make paying for parking quick, easy and efficient for both customers and car park operators.

Their solution has just been adopted by St Austell Town Council.

Macknelly explained: “St Austell Town Council has been having issues with people using the current app they have in place, including complaints about download and set up time.

“Our Pay2Park system is an online payment system with no app required. The user simply scans a QR code and is taken directly to the payment options for that car park. You can also go directly to the website and the carpark can be selected. It’s a simple payment process which aims to give users a better parking experience.”

David Pooley, town clerk at St Austell Town Council, said: “The uptake of people using Pay2Park has surpassed all expectations which is a clear indication of how easy it is to use.”

The town council are undertaking a six-month trial with FindParkPay, which Macknelly is hoping will be extended.
