The G7 United Kingdom official website has gone live and is already attracting a global audience thanks to the Cornish company that developed it.

Working from offices in Truro and with a 16-year history in digital delivery, Affinity Digital won a contract with the Cabinet Office last year to support and maintain a growing suite of services that use the WordPress platform. These range from websites and portals to applications and intranets.

“When the Cabinet Office asked us to produce the official G7 website to promote the summit taking place in Carbis Bay this June, we were naturally delighted,” said Affinity’s MD Emma Thomas.

“Our biggest challenge was the timeframe as it was important for the new website to go live on a precise date – giving us about three weeks to progress it from design to completion.

“We worked very closely with the Cabinet Office digital team and G7 Task Force throughout the process. A site like this clearly has to be approved at the very highest levels and collaboration at every stage of the development was therefore essential.”

Since going live, website analytics show a worldwide reach that currently extends to 115 countries. As the event draws ever closer, website visitor numbers are expected to increase dramatically.

As Affinity continues to develop, owner and sales director, Jonathan Duval, anticipates further recruitment and growth.

“We’re likely to be advertising more openings very soon,” he said. “Our Cabinet Office contract has been extended for another year and a significant contract win in March means the growth we have enjoyed over the last four years looks set to continue.”
