Penryn-based SMS marketing services provider, FireText, has announced details of a new international initiative.
The company has launched a single ‘shortcode’ to allow global brands to reach their customers within the US and UK.
FireText says it is the first available international shortcode of its kind.
A shortcode can be used to send and receive SMS messages, and is meant to be easier to read and remember than a full number.
With a simple code, 67076, businesses can use just one number in multiple international jurisdictions for easier marketing and alert communications.
FireText founder, James Huff, explained: “Businesses need to be able to communicate the same call to action in both the US and UK and now, for the first time, they can.
“Global brands want to invest in marketing creative and promote a single shortcode regardless of geography. With 67076, they are now able reach customers on both sides of the pond.”
