Cornish PR company Mercury has seen an internet game it created for glove client Marigold go global with players from over 20 countries already logging on.

When marketing bosses at Marigold decided they wanted to promote a range of their latest gloves in a more creative way, they turned to Mercury to come up with the solution.

Having created a multi-level concept for the game Glove Up – Mercury then worked with Penzance-based design company Channel and creative digital company LinedUp of Pool Innovation Centre to bring the game to life.

According to Marigold’s international marketing manager, Donald Gillespie, the game has been a resounding success.

“We wanted to promote the launch of our latest Indicator range of gloves in a different way and loved the idea of a web game,” he said. “Mercury came up with the concept for the game, drafted the copy and oversaw the design and creation of the game, which was launched at Europe’s largest health and safety exhibition in Germany.

“Mercury followed this up with a PR campaign across the UK, mainland Europe and North America which has resulted in hundreds of players logging on, providing us with not only a raised profile but great new business leads.”
