Audio: Cornwall king of speed


“Cornwall is already renowned for having better surfing than California, now from a technical point of view it will have better internet surfing than California.”

The ambitious words of BT chief executive Ian Livingston, following the historic announcement at the Headland Hotel in Newquay that superfast broadband is destined for Cornwall with speeds of up to 100Mbps.

Matthew Clarke reports from the Headland, and hears just why September 30, 2010, could go down in Cornwall’s history books as a watershed  in the Duchy’s economic fortunes.
