A local internet marketing company has gained Google AdWords Certified Partner status just days after the scheme was launched.

The new certification programme, which came in towards the end of April, has been put in place by Google for online marketing professionals, agencies and other individuals – such as search engine marketers (SEMs), search engine optimisers (SEOs) and marketing consultants who currently manage or want to manage AdWords accounts.

This new certification supersedes the Google AdWords Qualified Company scheme which will be retired in October 2010.

Niddocks’ managing director, Rob Edlin, said: “Google have made the certification criteria more stringent and have added a number of more challenging exams which really adds credibility to the certification and really helps Google AdWords Certified Partners stand out from the crowd.

“We are delighted to be one of the first in the country to achieve this new certification.”

An increasing number of businesses in Cornwall are choosing Google AdWords as their advertising platform to acquire new customers because of its relative simplicity and effectiveness.

Google is continuing to develop its Certification Programme with additional exams coming in the near future and new certification schemes planned for 2010.
