Cornwall National Landscape has announced the winners of its 2024 photography competition.
The theme was ‘Celebrating People and Place’ with photographers asked to capture what makes Cornwall National Landscape so special to them, from flora and fauna, to bees, birds and diverse landscapes. A panel of judges selected the winners from over 100 fantastic entries.
Cornwall National Landscape is the name for the protected landscape in Cornwall, in law a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), endorsed by Natural England. Our primary purpose is to conserve and enhance Natural Beauty.
It comprises 12 separate sections, making up one third of Cornwall – an area bigger than Dartmoor National Park. Ten sections are coastal, one is estuarine and one is moorland. 75% of Cornwall National Landscape consists of farmed land. Local people and tourists enjoy Cornwall’s world-renowned coastline, UNESCO World Heritage Site designation, and the host of natural and heritage features that make it unique.
The winning entry came from Frank Leavesley, whose photo – Last Light at Port Quin – wins him a £500 staycation voucher from Classic Cottages.
