Cornwall-based sustainability champion Matt Hocking has become a non-executive director at leading UK ethical eyewear and B Corp brand, Pala.

Firmly established as a sustainable business leader, Hocking brings a wealth of knowledge to the role as founder of Leap, a sustainable design agency based in Truro which was one of the first businesses in the UK to gain B Corp certification.

Hocking will work alongside Pala’s founder, John Pritchard, and the team to boost brand awareness within the sustainable eyewear space, helping them increase their business impact model score for the 2023 B Corp recertification.

He said: “I’m thrilled to join the Pala Eyewear team helping shape their global future. Their detail and commitment to seeing the world better are inspirational and I’ve long admired both their product and the change they enable in the world.

“I loved the fact they were doing things differently from day one. As a creative and sustainability consultant I am lucky to meet lots of truly brilliant businesses, so the chance to then take it further and be part of an organisation really using business for good excites me.”
