The director of Redruth-based Creative Skills has been named as one of 12 new Skills Ambassadors across the UK.
In the role, Jane Sutherland will help provide experience and expertise to support small and micro-businesses in the creative sector and help them engage with skills and training.
The Ambassadors will work with existing networks to build new national and regional connections through the National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural.
Abigail Smith, senior investment manager at the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, said: “The UK Commission is delighted with the appointment of the new Skills Ambassadors. Their work will bring many benefits for the creative sector, both to small businesses and young people, and we are pleased to be investing in the project through the Employer Investment Fund.”
Krowji-based Creative Skills provides practical support to Cornish visual artists and craftsmen. It also runs the annual Open Studios Cornwall event.
