This year’s Royal Cornwall Show (June 10-12) sees the launch of Cornwall’s Big Lunch campaign.
A nationwide initiative, the roots of The Big Lunch lie firmly in Cornwall through the Eden Project’s inspiration that the world can quickly become a better place if we get to know our neighbours better and build a stronger sense of community.
Eden’s aim is that on July 18 this year, Cornwall will lead the way with more people per head sitting down for their Big Lunch than in any other county in the UK. This one-day get together with neighbours can be anything from a simple lunch to a full blown street party.
Visitors to the Royal Cornwall Show will get first hand information on the Big Lunch Eden’s stand with ideas for organising their own event.
Big Lunch Project Manager Emily Partridge said: “Our aim this year is for Cornwall to lead the way with more people per head getting together for a Big Lunch in the county than anywhere else in the UK.”
