More than 1,600 new jobs have been created in Cornwall by businesses participating in a coaching programme that supports their growth.
Latest figures from the Coaching for High Growth programme show that since its launch in 2009, 541 new jobs have been created in start-up businesses while existing businesses have created a further 1,112.
The programme is funded by ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) and delivered by leading provider of specialist coaching, Oxford Innovation. It is estimated a further 680 jobs have also been protected as a result of businesses participating in the programme.
Andrew Finley, Oxford Innovation’s commercial director of enterprise coaching, said: “What is particularly pleasing about these figures is that the jobs are being created across a range of sectors from digital and software to manufacturing and engineering.
“That indicates the Coaching for High Growth programme is delivering sustainable economic benefit throughout Cornwall.”
