Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall has won a top award at the Europe wide RegioStars 2014.

The restaurant, at Watergate Bay, beat off four other shortlisted finalists in the ‘Inclusive growth: Creating jobs for the young generation category’. The winner was announced last night (March 31) at a ceremony in Brussels.

The annual Regiostars awards, run by the European Commission, aim to identify good practices in regional development and to highlight original and innovative projects which could be attractive and inspiring to other regions.

Fifteen Cornwall CEO, Matthew Thomson, said: “The Inclusive Growth award from RegioStars is an important step for our social enterprise because it shows how tackling social problems can contribute to the economy.

“European recognition has helped us to celebrate and reaffirm what we have achieved; were looking forward to the future now and how we can expand our reach.”
