The Aerohub Enterprise Zone at Newquay Airport has welcomed a new tenant.

CIS (UK) Ltd is an international provider of “modular buildings” and has chosen Aerohub as the preferred location for its UK operations.

Originally established in Australia as a supplier to the mining industry, CIS has expanded into the global marketplace with CIS (UK) Ltd.

As well as serving the global mining industry, CIS (UK)’s modular product range opens the door to a variety of sectors including the military, education, commercial and international aid charities.

MD, Andrew Sangster, said: “We chose Aerohub as the base for our UK operations because of the ease at which we could set up.

“Newquay Cornwall Airport is an ideal location; it is less than one hour’s flight from London Gatwick and also offers the facility for corporate and private aircraft to land, allowing our international clients to reach us very easily.”

CIS (UK) Ltd is already using four local businesses to support its business launch and expects its arrival to generate employment for between 20-25 local people once the company is fully established, in addition to its global workforce.

Chris Pomfret, chairman of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership, added: “Connectivity is clearly important to this international business so we are delighted that CIS (UK) Ltd has chosen Aerohub as the base for its UK and northern hemisphere operations.

“The company’s commitment to using local suppliers matches our aspirations that occupiers at Aerohub support growth in the local supply chain, and we warmly welcome the employment opportunities that CIS (UK) Ltd is creating in the local economy.”
