Redruth-based DP Engineering has completed a £750k relocation and expansion project, safeguarding more than 15 highly skilled jobs in the process.

The move to new premises on the Treleigh Industrial Estate, which are 70% bigger than the previous base, is timely as DP Engineering has also won a new contract to supply manufactured precision components to a customer in France.

Funding for the relocation and expansion came in part from the Grant for Business Investment (GBI) scheme through the ERDF Convergence programme. DP Engineering was assisted in its application for funding by Aimee Phillips, corporate finance associate at Francis Clark with Winter Rule in Truro.

DP Engineering chief executive, David Proctor, said: “Working with the team at Francis Clark with Winter Rule has enabled us to achieve a great deal in a short amount of time and their advice and input has been superb throughout the whole process.

“We already had plans to expand and move to larger premises, so when the chance arose to do so and retain skilled staff in Cornwall in the process, we grasped the opportunity. DP Engineering is bucking the manufacturing trend and has sustained exceptional year on year growth.

“This has not only been achieved by good commercial decision making and shrewd investment but my desire to keep manufacturing local.”
