An inaugural software development conference that could have key benefits for the Cornish economy is being staged in Cornwall later this summer.
Speakers from across the globe have been invited to the Agile on the Beach event, taking place on September 15 and 16 at the Tremough campus in Penryn.
Agile provides philosophy, techniques and tools to alleviate issues surrounding traditional software development and deployment, to help make businesses more effective.
Hard core technical aspects of Agile through to business strategy will be in focus during the two-day conference.
Allan Kelly, author of Changing Software Development, is one of the speakers taking part and he explained: “Agile can create expansion for Cornish businesses by enabling technology companies using Agile methods to be one step ahead of their competitors.
“Many companies that make the switch find the days of delivering services late, over budget or having unhappy customers are long gone.
“I was recently introduced to a Canadian company being shown around Pool Innovation Centre that was considering setting up a software group in Cornwall. It demonstrated that the county has the cutting-edge resources available to make such a business viable.”
