Following the success of its first meeting, the Cornwall Digital Meetup Group has announced details of a second event to celebrate and explore superfast broadband in Cornwall.

Visitors to the event, at Pool Innovation Centre on November 17, will be able to gain a firsthand experience of the 100Mbps broadband available at the facility.

It will be the first time that there has been a public event in Cornwall with this kind of high speed internet access available for people to try out, ahead of the planned roll out of Next Generation Access (NGA).

It is hoped that people will gain a greater understanding of the capabilities that will be available in the near future and start to share ideas for new opportunities the technology could support.

It follows the first Cornwall Digital Meetup Group event last week, which heard about the latest news on the EU-funded BGA project from Julian Cowans of Cornwall Development Company at the Blue Bar in Porthtowan.

Paul Clark of Packet Ship commented: “There was a real buzz in the room and it was great both to meet both old friends and make new links; I look forward to future meetings and exploring what the Cornish digital community will be able to do with Next Generation Access.”

“A perfect group of businesses and individuals with an interest in all things Digital” added Rob Edlin of Niddocks Internet Marketing. “I really feel that this group can be a great voice for Cornwall’s digital future.”

The next event is free for people who sign up to the Cornwall Digital Meetup Group’s website.
