St Michaels Resort in Falmouth has announced that the Cornish mental health charity, Sea Sanctuary will be its official charity partner of 2023.

One of the world’s leading advocates of ‘Blue Health’, Sea Sanctuary is on a mission to provide vital mental health and wellbeing support to those that need it. It champions the belief that being around any blue space, be it the sea, lakes, or rivers, rejuvenates the body and mind, reducing stress and anxiety.

Commercial director Tim Fryer said: “We have first-hand experience of the benefits that living and working by the sea can provide in terms of mental health relief which is why we wanted to support Sea Sanctuary’s mission. The pandemic really helped hammer home how important the emotional and mental wellbeing of our crew, guests and the wider community is. Sea Sanctuary’s life changing work really is a tonic to people in the most trying of times and we are so proud to be able to help them on their journey.”

To help connect guests with Sea Sanctuary’s cause, St Michaels Resort will be offering Sea Sanctuary Sails, an experience onboard the charity’s historic tall ship, Irene, which will be available to book via the website.
