A Hayle-based community interest company (CIC) has been awarded £10k in National Lottery funding.

The Waite Room CIC will use the money to run its PAC 4 MEN (Physical activity community 4 mental & emotional nourishment) programme, which features regular outdoor training sessions for men, using body weight, slam balls, battle ropes etc.

These sessions will offer a safe space to explore “emotional release and connection through physical activity”. This new National Lottery funding will facilitate a 46-week rolling programme of this invaluable project for male attendees in Hayle and surrounding areas.

Tracy Waite, company director and project facilitator, said: “Thanks to National Lottery players, this grant means that we can offer the service to individuals in and around Hayle, with mental and physical health problems, to gain recovery, relief, confidence and community through exercise.

“Being able to continue this project and offer further services for the local community will help so many explore movement as a coping mechanism and healthy alternative alongside traditional offerings. This will make a big difference to people’s lives.”
